Bemidji State University
For in-service and pre-service STEM discipline teachers. The course is available for either graduate or undergraduate credit. Workshop runs from 4:00 p.m on Sunday June 12 (introductory material and social function) through Friday, June 17th.
Registration deadline: May 23, 2011
Workshop activities include High Altitude Balloon payload design and construction, launch, recovery, and data analysis (this activity should also interest computer, technology, physics, and earth science teachers). An overnight field geology excursion to northeastern Minnesota will study Proterozoic and Archean rocks focusing on interpretation of the rocks in the context of Minnesota's history. Also includes one day study of the local Pleistocene glacial deposits in the vicinity of Bemidji.
