| Who is this program for? |
The program is designed for nontraditional students who have a minimum of 2 years experience as a program paraprofessional and who wish to obtain a bachelor’s degree and special education licensure. Candidates must have completed an Associate in Arts Degree or approximately 60 credits in the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum. Students may maintain employment as a paraprofessional while pursuing licensure. |
| Program description |
Students complete the 120-hour minimum graduation requirement by taking courses required for special education licensure. A test-out option is provided for an introductory course. Six field experience credits are granted for employment experience. Upon completion of the bachelor’s degree, students apply for and are admitted to the graduate Learning Disabilities Certificate Program and earn a LD license after completing a 6-week summer student teaching and methods block (rather than a 16-week semester). |
