Begin at a Two-Year College
While you need a at least a bachelor's degree to become a teacher, many Minnesota teachers begin their professional education at a two-year college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
If you complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum at a community or technical college you will receive credit for all lower-division general education when you enter a state university or University of Minnesota teacher education program.
In addition, many two year community or technical colleges have specific agreements with four-year universities to coordinate their courses with teacher education licensure programs.
